Christmas 2008

The boys eagerly awaited Christmas. The tree and decorations went up and the presents surrounded the tree. On Christmas Eve, after church, the presents were opened and everyone was truly blessed with the spirit of Christmas.

Birthday!!!

We celebrated both Pat's and Pam's birthday this weekend - we won't say how old Pam is but check out the clue.  We had a great dinner at Shady Maple in Lancaster PA. On Sunday it was time to get our tree - Christmas is not too far away! Klaus played his first in indoor soccer game on Saturday. His team won 5-3 and Klaus almost scored!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving!! We had an unusual Turkey this year - see if you can see why! We had a wonderful time with everyone. Pam and Priscilla even went shopping at 12:00 am hoping to beat the crowd - but it looks like the crowd beat them as well as a lack of sleep!

Winter is HERE

The first snow fall of the season came a little too early. It's very unusual to get snow before Thanksgiving or even Christmas they say !!!!!  The boys enjoyed it while it lasted and are looking forward to the feet that will arrive in the next few months.

Soccer Season Ends with Wins

Klaus' team played their last game on Saturday winning 4-2. Coach K (Oliver) and Coach T had a great time coaching a great team ending with a 5-1-0 season. Klaus (16) assisted in 2 goals and scored 1 during Saturday's game.

On Sunday the parents challenged the players to a final "friendly" game. After taking an early lead the parents tried to hang on, but youth prevailed in the 2nd half with a final 6-5 score. Hans was the referee and did an outstanding job - even reversing a parents "off side" goal - despite loud (dad) protests.

Fall in PA

It's been awhile since we have updated our blog and we are sorry for the delay.

Since our last entry we have finished the stone wall on our house. Soccer season has come and gone. Both boys had a busy season and Klaus even earned some additional money refereeing.

Halloween was fun as Han's dressed as his favorite Star Wars character.

Swimming, scouts, soccer and school have kept the boys very busy.

Our Weekend

By popular demand we are keeping the blog going post vacation. Klaus and Hans have gotten right back into the swing of things. The were busy the first two days of school. On Saturday, before Hanna arrived, Klaus refereed his first soccer game of the season and then had his first game which his team won 4-2. Hans' game was rained out when tropical storm Hanna arrived. On Sunday after church we got busy finishing the stone work on the house. We are 85% done and should have the project completed by next week!

Home In PA

After arriving in CA on Sunday we spent Monday relaxing, repacking and of coarse playing a quick round of golf and dip into the jacuzzi.

On Tuesday we left for the airport at 5:30 am PST and made our way back to PA. The flights went well with no delays and at 5:30 pm EST we arrived back in PA safely.

This was a once in a lifetime trip for us all. Our time with Aunt Carlene, Aunt Diane and Jason was awesome and words cannot express our thanks and love. God has truly blessed us in so many ways.

At 7:10am this morning our vacation finally came to an official end with the boys going back to school. However our memories of this vaca will not fade away!!!

Back in CA

We spent Sunday morning getting stuff put away and got our last views of the Maui Beach. Our flight left Maui at 12:30 pm. We saw two movies Kung Fu Panda and Prince Caspian and had a great flight. We arrived in CA 30 minutes early and drove back to El Dorado. After a restful night we have our last vacation day ahead of us before our Tuesday morning flight back to PA. We have all had such a great time and have great memories to take back.

Last Full Day in Maui

After a busy Friday we slept in a little Saturday. At noon, Diane, Klaus, Jason and Oliver headed out for a Zip-Line adventure. We met at the main location Ka'anappali and then shifted into the Eco Van and headed up Mount Kahalawai. We stopped at a half way point and geared up in harnesses and helmets. We then went up to 4000+ feet and started down 1 of 8 Zip lines ranging in length from 800 to 1000 feet and we travelled at speeds up to 50 mph.  We all had a great time and loved the local tour guides and the amazing views from the ex volcano. At the end we dusted ourselves off and headed for dinner at the Hula grill and saw our last sunset on Maui. We will miss this heaven!! We had a great, great, great time!!!!!!! Our plane leaves at 12:30 pm for San Francisco.

Aloha!!! Mahalo!!!

We Grew Gills

We spent Thursday morning out in the Pacific Ocean off the island Lanai. We took a ship out of Lahaina and headed out for about 45 minutes to a snorkeling area just off the coast of Lanai. We all jumped in and saw various fish and an amazing coral reef. After lifting anchor we headed out to another spot and snorkeled for a while. A whale shark made an appearance (rare) by our boat and some got a chance to catch a brief glimpse. We missed it but the whole day was amazing. After arriving back in Lahaina, and a great dinner we hit the sack early.

Aloha

Enjoying Hawaii

We ended Wednesday with a great dinner at Hula Grill in Kaanapali. The dinner table was on the beach. We al had a great time - especially Hans.

Thursday began with Klaus, Diane and Oliver braving the heights para sailing. The view was unbelievable from 400 feet up.  We skimmed the water on the way down to cool us off and then returned to shore. Tomorrow it's off onto a boat that will take us to turtle cove for a 4 hour tour which will include a stop to snorkel to see dolphins and turtles.

Aloha from All
